Banana Stories/Histoires de Bananes is published by Shebandowan Films in co-operation with Canada's International Development Research Centre. It contains articles about bananas by Ron Harpelle of Lakehead University, Linda Ross of Oxfam Canada, Jean-Marc Fleury of the International Development Research Centre and Charlotte Lusty of the International Network for the Improvement of Banana and Plantain. The publication is aimed at teenagers and young adults and provides an overview of the history of the banana industry, international development efforts in the developing world, the science of banana cultivation, food security, and the issues involved in bringing the fruit to northern markets. This publication is brought to you by Canada's International Development Research Centre.

Teaching about Bananas and Fair Trade

Teachers are urged to visit the Global Education Network / Le Réseau de l'éducation globale website where our film, Banana Split, and Banana Stories/Histoires de Bananes are core elements in the teaching module on bananas. For the English version of this module see "Bananas Unpeeled"  and for the French version see Les Bananes Toutes Crues. It's all free and a cut above anything else you will find on the internet.
